The leotards we suggest allow careful observation of students; alternative shirts, shorts, or skirts other may prevent instructors from seeing correct body position or movement.
A ballet bun is the traditional hairstyle worn by ballerinas. The main purposes being: to prevent hair from getting in the way of a ballerina, to provide a uniform (and elegant!) look for all of the ballerinas, and to maintain focus on the dancer (not the hair).
We have scheduled fitting and registration days in the summer. Appointments are made through sign up genius. We offer black leotards, black ballet skirts, and pink tights to purchase at these appointments and will properly fit your dancer for Pink Split Sole Ballet shoes (Black for boys) and Tan jazz shoes (Black for boys). We will order these items and have them ready for you on the first day of class or you may stop into the office when they arrive.
As the students get older and more advanced in their technique, it is important to properly warm up your body before class to gain the most from your ballet class as well as safety for your body. We teach warm up exercises in class at the beginning of the year so the students know how to properly warm up on their own throughout the year.
While we support family time together and also realize that school activities or illness/injury will occasionally cause conflicts, please inform us about these situations ahead of time and limit absences to the greatest degree possible. If a student is chronically tardy or misses more than four classes in a semester, a meeting is required with the artistic director. We reserve the right to revoke their participation in the recital. Continued disregard of the class schedule may result in dismissal from the program. Please ask about make up class options for your individual needs.
